Samuel is a lifelong transit rider and a first-year at UC San Diego (go Tritons!). He is a co-founder of BuildSD, working to document and advocate for sustainable development across the San Diego region. He leads development on the BuildSD website, alongside producing the Builder's Remedy Podcast and organizing San Diego Transit Month. He is also a board member on the Catenary Maps team, focusing on media and communications.
Samuel is a graduate of San Diego High School (go Cavers!) in the heart of downtown. While in high school, he served as president of the California High School Transit Alliance, where he is now a staff advisor. He was responsible for coordinating and promoting the Let's Go with PRONTO campaign that distributed transit fare cards to thousands of students eligible for a region-wide free transit benefit, and contributed to the first two years of the San Diego Unified Sports Broadcasting program, where he built infrastructure for live graphics rendering and encoding.
Samuel loves collecting pins and paper transit vehicles, spending time with friends, and riding transit and his bike all around the San Diego region. His favorite bus route, of course, is NCTD's Route 101. You can find Samuel on Instagram, Bluesky, and Twitter.
